What effects would an Obama presidency have on the popular image of America overseas?

April 26th, 2010 | by admin |

Do you think an Obama presidency could fundamentally change the view much of the world has of America at the current time?

It would be a huge advantage for Obama to be elected. I read an article in the Readers Digest that told of how people all over the world view him. In almost every case, he won the polls abroad. I care what the rest of the world thinks about us, as Bush has ruined our reputation in the world.

I’m much more concerned about the effects of an Obama presidency on the United States.

It might go a little bit of the way toward convincing the entire rest of the world that we’re not actually a lost cause.

I think Obama would definitely improve America’s image.

The rest of the world thinks America is a joke, and nothing is going to change unless we vote for change.

Sure, the Europeans would think that we are following their failed example of Socialism.

I don’t know why so many in the US worry about what others think of us, I don’t care one bit.

If McCain wins, as I think he will, then we will have the USA that I desire, Speak softly, but carry a big stick.

Absolutely, the guy is a rock star in Europe. I was in Italy this summer when he went to Europe and I could not believe the coverage he was getting. The overall opinion seemed to be one of hope. Finally there may be a president who can turn America’s international rep. around.

I think Obama will dramatically improve our standing in the world, and that’s the main reason I’m voting for him. We don’t live in a bubble, and so we need to concern ourselves with how others perceive us, although some Republicans seem to believe we can somehow succeed in the global economy while thumbing our nose at the world. In only 8 years, Bush has whittled away most of the respect we used to enjoy from the world, and electing McCain would be like saying "We know you hate us and we dont care"

Obama’s victory in the elections would mean that americans have learned from past mistakes, and they want a change in their lives.

It would mostly have a positive effect. Bush has hurt the image of the US while he has been president.

It would have an excellent effect to the world. By electing a democrat Afro American it would show the world that America has change and is not more a nation where only the white people rule. I support Obama 110%.

    Go Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would show the world that we are willing to turn the control of our country over to a person with no experience.

Yes, America’s image could improve because we have a new party, fresh leaders with solutions, and for once we have someone who’s not a traditional white in office.
Part of the reason why there is so much tension between us and other countries is that we’ve always been electing white christian bible thumpers.
    Time for a Change.

& it’s not only the fact that we got a black president with a foreign-like name that will sharpen our image……it’s also his policies: Getitng out of Iraq.
