Why did Obama forgive Reid? What kind of religion allows one to forgive?

When people say hateful things, shouldn’t you seek revenge. Hate them back. An eye for an eye?
Who said, "To err is human, to forgive divine" didn’t live in the present day of hate and intolerance.
What kind of religion does Obama practice which allows him to forgive?
Don’t all the world’s main religions advocate forgiveness? I don’t know or care what religion Obama practices – that’s his own private business.

Why does he have to be religious to be able to forgive? Believing or not believing in God doesn’t change your power of forgiveness, quality of a person, or ability to have class.
Although I do think Obama identifies himself as a Christian.

I don’t think Reid made his comment in a mean spirited way. He supported Obama.
Obama, as a Christian, has forgiven him. Honestly, this is not a big news item, in the scheme of things.
